Howdy, friends!

First, we’d like to thank our friends at West Brazos Animal Center for sharin’ a little web space with us while our new site is being built.  Quite the neighborly thing to do!

We’re fixin’ to open the doors to the Lodge, and we’re lookin’ to add some hardworking, animal-lovin’ folks to our team! To find the right fit, we’re hosting a Hiring Event on Friday, October 17, 2025, and we’d be mighty glad to see y’all there.

We’ve got several positions open – from Wranglers to Receptionists – and the job descriptions are listed below.  If you think you’d be a good match and want to join us at the event, please send your name, email, phone number, and preferred time slot to management@westbrazosvet.com by October 10th so we can get you on the schedule.

What to Expect at the Hiring Event:

  • Upon arrival, you’ll complete a short application form and submit your resume.
  • We’ll also take a quick photo to help us put faces to names during the review process.

Job Title: Client Care Wrangler

Reports to: Animal Care and Client Services Lead / Lodge Manager

Position Summary
The Client Care Wrangler is the first friendly face folks see when they walk through the doors of Rowdy Paws’ Pet Lodge. This role focuses on hospitality, communication, and client service, while also supporting the smooth daily operations of the lodge. The Client Care Wrangler greets clients, manages check ins and check outs, handles reservations and records, and ensures every family feels welcome and cared for. With country hospitality and attention to detail, the Client Care Wrangler helps make every stay a tail waggin’ good time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome clients with courtesy, patience, and genuine kindness at check in and check out
  • Answer phones, respond to emails, and handle reservations with accuracy and professionalism
  • Maintain client records, ensuring information is up to date and complete
  • Communicate clearly with clients about services, schedules, and special care instructions
  • Support front desk operations including payments, scheduling, and guest updates
  • Work closely with Wranglers and leadership to relay client needs and pet care details
  • Assist with administrative tasks and recordkeeping as needed
  • Promote Rowdy Paws’ Pet Lodge values in every interaction with clients and their pets
  • Take on other responsibilities as assigned to ensure a safe, clean, and enjoyable experience for pets and their families

Qualifications

  • Experience in customer service, hospitality, or administrative roles preferred
  • Comfort working in an environment with dogs and cats
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Friendly, patient, and detail oriented with a can do attitude
  • Ability to multitask in a busy lodge environment
  • Comfortable using scheduling systems, phones, and basic computer software
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely interact with dogs and cats of all sizes
  • Capability to lift up to 30 pounds as needed

Job Title: Brand & Events Wrangler

Reports to: Director of Operations / Lodge Manager

Position Summary
The Brand & Events Wrangler spreads the word and spirit of Rowdy Paws’ Pet Lodge through marketing, community outreach, and client engagement. This role wrangles up social media content, organizes events, and helps grow relationships with families, neighbors, and community partners. With creativity, hospitality, and a love for pets, the Brand & Events Wrangler makes sure the Rowdy Paws brand shines as bright out in the community as it does inside the lodge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Rowdy Paws’ Pet Lodge social media accounts, creating engaging posts, photos, and videos
  • Plan, promote, and coordinate community events, adoption days, and lodge activities
  • Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, rescues, and community partners
  • Develop marketing campaigns to promote services, specials, and lodge events
  • Design and distribute flyers, newsletters, and other promotional materials
  • Capture and share stories of our guests that highlight the Rowdy Paws experience
  • Respond to online inquiries, reviews, and client engagement messages with professionalism and hospitality
  • Track marketing efforts and report on engagement and community impact
  • Support the Lodge Manager and Director of Operations with branding projects and outreach initiatives
  • Ensure all communications and events reflect Rowdy Paws’ Pet Lodge values of trusted care, country hospitality, and tail waggin’ fun
  • Take on other responsibilities as assigned to ensure a safe, clean, and enjoyable experience for pets and their families

Qualifications

  • Experience in marketing, social media management, or community engagement preferred
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, both written and visual
  • Creativity and comfort using social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.)
  • Event planning or coordination experience a plus
  • Ability to build relationships with community members and local organizations
  • Organized, dependable, and detail oriented
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays for events
  • Love for animals and comfort working around dogs and cats

Job Title: Rowdy Wrangler

Reports to: Animal Care and Client Services Lead / Lodge Manager

Position Summary
Rowdy Wranglers are the heart of our lodge, providing daily care, comfort, and enrichment for every guest that trots through our doors. Wranglers ensure that dogs and cats are safe, happy, and well cared for while keeping the lodge clean, orderly, and full of country hospitality. This role is hands on, active, and essential to keeping tails waggin’ and spirits high at Rowdy Paws.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily care for dogs and cats including feeding, watering, exercise, and enrichment
  • Monitor animal behavior and well being, reporting concerns to the Lead or Manager
  • Handle animals safely and kindly during playgroups, yard rotations, and individual care
  • Clean and sanitize kennels, play yards, and facility spaces to maintain a healthy environment
  • Set up and supervise playgroups, making sure guests are safe and having a tail waggin’ good time
  • Give each guest attention and affection to make their stay comfortable and fun
  • Assist with enrichment activities such as puzzles, toys, training games, and cuddle time
  • Support front desk operations when needed by helping with check ins, check outs, and client communication
  • Follow all Rowdy Paws policies, safety procedures, and cleaning protocols
  • Work as a team to ensure smooth daily operations and uphold the Rowdy Paws standards of care

  • Experience with animal care, pet sitting, boarding, or daycare preferred but not required

Reports to: Animal Care and Client Services Lead / Lodge Manager

Position Summary
The Play Yard Deputy keeps the Rowdy Paws’ Pet Lodge play yards safe, clean, and downright fun. This role is all about supervising group play, leading enrichment activities, and ensuring every guest enjoys wide open play in a safe and engaging environment. The Play Yard Deputy also handles the upkeep of play areas and equipment, making sure everything is ready for tail waggin’ good times. With a sharp eye, quick reflexes, and a heart for animals, the Play Yard Deputy is essential in balancing fun with safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise group play sessions, monitoring dog behavior to ensure safety and positive interaction
  • Lead yard rotations and enrichment activities to keep pets active, engaged, and happy
  • Safely handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments during play and transitions
  • Clean and sanitize play yards, play equipment, water stations, and other areas daily
  • Monitor the condition of play equipment and report or perform basic upkeep as needed
  • Identify and respond to changes in animal behavior, addressing issues promptly
  • Communicate with Wranglers and leadership about guest needs, behaviors, or concerns
  • Support overall lodge operations and assist in other care tasks as needed

Reports to: Lodge Manager / Director of Operations

Position Summary
The Groomer provides professional grooming services to dogs and cats at Rowdy Paws’ Pet Lodge. This role is responsible for delivering high quality cuts, styles, baths, and hygiene care while ensuring every guest has a safe and positive experience. The Groomer works closely with the Bather & Grooming Hand to provide efficient, trusted care that leaves every pet looking and feeling their best.

  • Perform professional grooming services including breed standard cuts, trims, de-shedding, and styling
  • Bathe, brush, dry, and complete grooming services as scheduled
  • Safely perform nail trims, ear cleaning, and other hygiene services
  • Assess coat, skin, and overall condition of pets, reporting health concerns as needed
  • Handle dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments with patience and care
  • Communicate clearly with clients about grooming preferences, styles, and results
  • Provide accurate grooming notes and maintain client records
  • Oversee and guide the Bather & Grooming Hand, ensuring proper bathing and prep work
  • Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized grooming area and tools

This role is responsible for bathing guests, drying, brushing, nail trims, and assisting with grooming services as needed. With patience, gentleness, and attention to detail, the Bather & Grooming Hand helps create a positive spa experience for dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bathe, dry, and brush dogs and cats in preparation for grooming or check out
  • Perform nail trims, ear cleaning, and basic hygiene care
  • Assist the Groomer with handling pets during grooming services as needed
  • Maintain grooming area cleanliness, sanitation, and organization
  • Monitor pets for signs of stress, discomfort, or health concerns during bathing and grooming
  • Safely handle and restrain pets of all sizes and temperaments
  • Restock grooming supplies and equipment as needed

  • Communicate with Groomer and leadership regarding guest needs or concerns
