Caring for small animals requires attention to their specific needs to ensure their health and well-being. Some of the key care requirements for common small mammals include:
Provide a spacious, well-ventilated enclosure suitable for their species.
Use appropriate bedding and clean it regularly.
Ensure the habitat is safe, escape-proof, and enriched with hiding spots and toys.
Feed species-appropriate diets (e.g., hay-based for rabbits and guinea pigs, high-protein for ferrets).
Supplement with fresh vegetables, limited fruits, and high-quality pellets as needed.
Provide constant access to clean, fresh water.
Schedule routine check-ups to monitor health and prevent illnesses.
